Artificial intelligence is ”too important not to be regulated”, as Google CEO Sundar Pichai put it in May 2023 in an interview. In this talk at the conference organised by the Digital Democracy Lab of the University of Zurich, I looked at the multiplicity of proposals that have been made to regulate this new technology that is developing at unprecedented speed, and assess both their content and their chances at realisation.
